Session types
Set up the kinds of session you offer, each with its own length options, description, and bookable link.
A session type is a kind of session you offer your practice partners, such as a quick Intro chat or a full Practice session. Each one has its own description, length options, and bookable link, so a partner knows exactly what they book. Partners see your session types wherever they book you: on your booking page, and on any time you offer a partner directly.
Robin sets you up with a few session types to start with, so you are bookable straight away. You can rename them, change them, or add your own.
Your starter set
- Practice. A full practice session, the core of Robin. You coach, and your partner is the client.
- Intro. A short first chat to see how you would work together.
- Ad hoc. This one powers the Start a call button in chat, for spontaneous calls when you are both free right now. It does not appear on your booking page, and nobody can book it ahead of time. It is still a proper session, with the same records and logbook entry as any other.
Editing a session type
Open Scheduling → Session types and pick one. Everything saves automatically as you work, and a small "Saved" marker appears at the top.
Name and link
The name is what partners see. Below it is the link, the last part of the URL people book this session at. A rename of the link is a deliberate, separate save, because it changes your bookable URL. Any link you have already shared for that session type stops working, so only change it when you mean to.
Description
The description is a short note partners see on your booking page. It says what the session is for and what to expect. The limit is 280 characters. Keep it short.
Length
Pick one or more of 15, 20, 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes. If you offer more than one, the partner chooses their length when they book.
Where you'll meet
Choose where sessions of this type take place:
- Robin video. The call runs in Robin, with transcripts, recording on Robin Pro, and an automatic logbook entry. This is the default.
- Google Meet. Robin makes a new Meet link on your Google Calendar for each booking. Your Google Calendar must be connected. If it isn't, Robin offers Connect Google Calendar in its place.
- I'll add a link to each booking. Use this when you make a new Zoom or Teams meeting each time. After someone books, you add the link on the session. Until you do, your partner sees that the link is on its way.
- My personal room. A link that never changes, such as a Zoom personal meeting room or a Teams personal link. Every booking uses it.
Your partner sees where you'll meet before they book, but never the link itself. They get the link once the booking is confirmed, or, for a link you add to each booking, once you add it. A session that has already been booked keeps its own place, and either of you can change it on the session. Sessions away from Robin video have no Robin transcript or recording, and no automatic logbook entry.
Booking timing
Minimum notice and buffers are set once for your whole calendar, not for each session type. See scheduling settings.
Feedback
Collect feedback decides whether Robin asks your partner for feedback after a session of this type. Untick it, and Robin stays quiet for that type. See feedback after a session.
Retiring a session type
Robin archives session types rather than deletes them. An archived type disappears from your booking page, and nobody can book it. Everything it was part of survives, and you can restore it at any time from the same list. Its link stays reserved while it is archived, so a restore brings the old URL back.
Your bookable link
Each session type has its own URL, shown in the editor with a copy button:
practicewithrobin.com/book/your-name/session-type
Share it, and a partner lands straight on this session type, ready to pick a time. To set the your-name part, see your booking page.
