How to find and connect with coaches
Browse the directory, send practice requests, and get your first session on the calendar.
You find practice partners on Robin by browsing the Coaches directory, sending a coach a practice request, and — once they accept — starting a conversation and booking your first session. Three tabs cover the lifecycle: browsing, responding to requests, and managing your current partners.
Browse
Open Coaches → Browse to see every coach who's signed up to Robin. Each card shows a coach's name, timezone overlap with yours, coaching focus, and how recently they've been active. A card whose coach hasn't visited Robin for about a month is dimmed and grouped to the end — see Why a card looks dimmed in the directory.
You can filter by association, years of coaching, language, and session length. Sort by timezone overlap if you want the easiest scheduling, or by newest if you want to meet someone who's just joined.
Tap any card to open a coach's full profile — their coaching focus, style, training, and anything else they've chosen to share.
Send a practice request
When you find a coach you'd like to practise with, tap Request to practise on their profile. You'll be asked to add a short note — a sentence or two introducing yourself and what you're looking for is enough.
They'll get an in-app notification and an email. Nothing else happens on your side until they respond.
Respond to incoming requests
When another coach sends you a request, it lands in Coaches → Requests — and you'll see a badge on the Coaches icon until you've reviewed it.
Open Requests to see the note, their profile, and Accept / Decline buttons. Accepting opens a new conversation between the two of you; declining quietly dismisses the request.
Start a conversation
Once a request is accepted (either direction), you're partners — the coach shows up in Coaches → Your partners, and you have a dedicated conversation.
From the conversation, open the call menu (the video button at the top) to Meet now for an instant call, or Schedule a call for a set time. You can also tap Book on the coach's profile any time. See Booking a call with a coach and Starting and joining a call for the full flow.
Tips
- Reply to requests quickly. A fresh request with a fast response is how partnerships actually start — requests that sit for days tend to go cold.
- Keep your profile up to date. Your availability and coaching focus drive who matches with you in the directory.
- Decline is fine. You don't have to practise with everyone who requests. A declined request just goes away — no further action needed.
