Recording a session

Recording captures a video of your practice session — with audio and a transcript — so you can watch it back afterwards. It's part of Robin Pro, and only the coach hosting the session can start it. Everyone on the call sees a clear banner the whole time it's running, and the recording stays private to the host until they choose to share it.

How recording works on a call

Calls start unrecorded. When the host would like to record:

1. The host taps Record in the call's Capture menu and confirms.
2. A "This session is being recorded" banner appears for everyone on the call and stays on screen the whole time — join partway through and you'll see it too. Recording always captures the transcript alongside the video.
3. Recording runs until the call ends. There's no mid-call stop. If you'd rather not be recorded, say so on the call, or leave it.

Only the host can record. If you're not the host and you'd like the session recorded, ask them on the call — they can start it from their side.

Where your recordings live

Each recording lives on its session's page, under Files — there's no separate library. As the host, you also get a Review tab, where the video sits beside the transcript so you can review the session as a whole. Reviewing your sessions covers the session page in full.

Keeping your recordings

While you have Robin Pro, your recordings are kept until you delete them — there's a Delete on each one, under Files. If your Pro subscription ends, your recordings aren't removed straight away: each one shows the date it will be deleted, so you have time to download anything you want to keep.

What Robin does with them

Recordings are encrypted at rest, stored in the UK, and never used for analytics, marketing, or AI training. Robin staff don't open them, with the single tightly-scoped exception of investigating a safety report — described in full on Transcripts on Robin.
