Recording a session

Recording captures a video of your practice session, with audio and a transcript, so you can watch it back afterwards. It is part of Robin Pro, and only the coach who hosts the session can start it. Everyone on the call sees a clear banner the whole time it runs, and the recording stays private to the host until they choose to share it.

How recording works on a call

Calls start unrecorded. When the host would like to record:

1. The host taps Record in the call's Capture menu and confirms.
2. A "This session is being recorded" banner appears for everyone on the call. It stays on screen the whole time, and anyone who joins partway through sees it too. Recording always captures the transcript alongside the video.
3. Recording runs until the host stops it or the call ends. To stop, the host opens the Capture menu again and taps Stop recording. The transcript that the recording started stops with it. If you would rather not be recorded, say so on the call, or leave it.

Only the host can record. If you are not the host and you would like the session recorded, ask them on the call. They can start it from their side.

Where your recordings live

Each recording lives on its session's page, under Files. There is no separate library. As the host, you also get a Review tab, where the video sits beside the transcript for a review of the session as a whole. Reviewing your sessions covers the session page in full.

A recording is the host's until they share it. Sharing your session files covers how to share a recording, withdraw a share, and ask for one to be deleted.

Keeping your recordings

While you have Robin Pro, Robin keeps your recordings until you delete them. Each one has a Delete button, under Files. If your Pro subscription ends, Robin does not remove your recordings straight away. Each one shows the date Robin will delete it, so you have time to download anything you want to keep.

What Robin does with them

Robin only stores and protects recordings, and never uses them for anything of its own. Who controls your data on Robin has the full statement, including the one exception for a safety report.
